Itinerary

Begin your journey at CTC Conservation, where travelers are introduced to grassroots conservation and community projects promoting sustainability. After an orientation and guided visit, depart for Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s closest savannah park to Kampala.

Evening: Arrive and settle at your camp or overlander base near the park, surrounded

by acacia woodland and wildlife.

Morning: Guided game drive or bicycle safari, spotting zebra, impala, buffalo, and eland.

Afternoon: Lunch by the lakeside before heading toward Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Evening: Arrive and relax at your overnight base near the park.

Ease into the wild with a scenic drive through the park, passing crater lakes and grasslands rich with elephants and antelope. Optional sunset view before dinner.

Morning: Classic game drive in Kasenyi Plains to track lions and elephants.

Afternoon: Visit Katwe Salt Lake or opt for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, home to hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife.

Evening: Campfire dinner under the stars.

Morning: Trek through Kyambura Gorge (~100 m deep), exploring its rainforest habitat and primates.

Afternoon: Continue south toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Evening: Arrive and rest before your gorilla trek.

Embark on a life-changing mountain gorilla trek (permits required, pre-booked). After the trek, begin your return journey toward Kampala.

Evening: Overnight in Kampala or en route.

Rest and restock supplies before continuing eastward.

Drive to Jinja, the adventure capital of East Africa.

Afternoon: Enjoy white-water rafting on the Nile, or try bungee jumping, kayaking, or quad biking.

Evening: Overnight along the Nile’s banks.

Allocated for Uganda–Kenya border crossing and travel contingencies. KENYA LEG – Plains, Peaks & Coast Days 10–12 – Masai Mara National Reserve Classic game drives across the Mara plains, home to lions, cheetahs, and the Great Migration (seasonal). Optional hot air balloon safari and Maasai cultural visit. Days 13–14 – Amboseli National Park Drive to Amboseli, famed for elephant herds and sweeping views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Morning and evening game drives through the park’s open plains and marshlands. Days 15–17 – Kenya Coast (Diani or Lamu) Fly or drive to the coast for sun and sea. Activities include snorkeling, dhow sunset cruises, and exploring Swahili coastal culture.

Evening: Relaxation by the Indian Ocean.

Optional rest or travel day before entering Tanzania. 

TANZANIA LEG – The Great Plains & Indian Ocean Days 19–21 – Serengeti National Park Enter the Serengeti, heart of African wildlife. Game drives reveal lions, leopards, and vast herds across endless savannah. Optional balloon safari at dawn. Days 22–23 – Ngorongoro Crater Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, home to dense wildlife and incredible scenery. Picnic lunch by the crater floor lakes. Days 24–26 – Zanzibar (Flight Optional) Fly or ferry to Zanzibar for spice tours, Stone Town exploration, and beach relaxation. Optional diving, snorkeling, or sunset dhow cruise.

Reserved for long travel or rest. 

SOUTHERN OVERLAND LEG – Through Zambia & Zimbabwe Days 28–29 – Tanzania to Zambia (Tunduma Border) Cross into Zambia, continuing toward the Zambezi region with overnight stops along the route. Days 30–31 – Victoria Falls (Zambia/Zimbabwe Side) Witness the thundering Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Optional: Sunset cruise, bungee jump, Zambezi white-water rafting, or village tour. Days 32–33 – Toward South Africa (Beitbridge Crossing) Drive south through Zimbabwe into South Africa, arriving in Johannesburg or Pretoria for a rest and orientation. SOUTH AFRICA LEG – Cape Town & The Southern Shores Days 34–37 – Cape Town Highlights Conclude your journey in Cape Town, the scenic jewel of South Africa. Suggested highlights:

  • Table Mountain – Hike or cable car for panoramic city and ocean views.
  • Cape Peninsula Tour – Visit Cape Point, Boulders Beach (penguins), and Chapman’s Peak Drive.
  • Robben Island – Ferry trip to the historic prison of Nelson Mandela.
  • V&A Waterfront – Explore dining, markets, and marine activities.
  • Cape Winelands – Optional excursion to Stellenbosch or Franschhoek for wine tasting.
  • Signal Hill or Camps Bay Sunset – A fitting end to your African odyssey.
