Tour Overview

An immersive 10-day journey through Uganda’s conservation and wildlife circuit — from the grassroots work of CTC Conservation Center to the savannahs of Mburo, the misty gorilla trails of Bwindi, the waterways of Queen Elizabeth, the mighty Murchison Falls, and the rhino plains of Ziwa. Experience close wildlife encounters, gorilla and chimp trekking, boat cruises, and classic savannah game drives — tracing Uganda’s path from roots to rivers.


Itinerary

  • Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport.
  • Transfer to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for rest and relaxation.
  • Evening safari briefing with your guide, preparing for your journey across Uganda’s scenic heartlands.

Overnight: Entebbe / Kampala hotel or lodge.

  • Breakfast at the hotel before departure.
  • Drive southwest to CTC Conservation Center in Mpigi for a hands-on introduction to Uganda’s community-driven conservation.

CTC Conservation Experience (Approx. 2 Hours):

  • Guided Conservation Walk – explore indigenous tree nurseries and reforestation sites.
  • Wildlife Interaction – get up close to rescued animals; supervised feeding and photo opportunities.
  • Crafts & Recycling Demo – see how waste is repurposed into functional crafts.
  • Environmental Education Session – understand how CTC connects conservation, youth, and local communities.
  • After the visit, continue to Lake Mburo National Park, with a short stop at the Equator for memorable photos and local crafts.
  • Arrival in the afternoon, check-in, and relax.

Overnight: Lodge inside or near Lake Mburo National Park.

  • Early breakfast before activities.
  • Choose one of the following for your morning safari:
  • Guided Bike Safari – cycle among zebras, giraffes, impalas, and topis.
  • Classic Game Drive – explore acacia woodlands for buffaloes, elands, warthogs, and other wildlife.
  • Lunch by the lakeside restaurant.
  • Afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo — view hippos, crocodiles, and prolific birdlife including fish eagles and kingfishers.

Overnight: Lake Mburo lodge.

  • Breakfast before departure.
  • Scenic drive through Ankole’s rolling hills and tea plantations toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
  • Arrival in the afternoon; check in and rest in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trek.

Overnight: Lodge near Bwindi National Park.

  • Early breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing.
  • Embark on a guided trek through the misty rainforest to locate a mountain gorilla family.
  • Enjoy an unforgettable hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat.
  • Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
  • Optional: Batwa Cultural Experience in the evening.

  • Breakfast before departure.
  • Drive north to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most diverse ecosystem.
  • Afternoon arrival, check-in, and relax at the lodge.

Overnight: Queen Elizabeth lodge.

  • Early breakfast before activities.
  • Morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains — spot lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and Uganda kob.
  • Return to the lodge for lunch and short rest.
  • Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, home to hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant birdlife.
  • On the return route, stop at Kikorongo Equator Point for photos.

Overnight: Queen Elizabeth lodge.

  • Breakfast before departure.
  • Drive north through the Albertine Rift and Hoima region to Murchison Falls National Park.
  • Scenic en-route stops and photo breaks.
  • Evening arrival, check-in, and relaxation at the lodge.

Overnight: Murchison Falls lodge.

  • Early breakfast before the morning game drive on the northern plains — search for elephants, lions, giraffes, oribi, and hartebeest.
  • Return for lunch at the lodge.
  • Afternoon boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of the powerful Murchison Falls.
  • After the cruise, drive to the Top of the Falls for panoramic views where the Nile squeezes through a 7-meter gorge.

Overnight: Murchison Falls lodge.

  • Breakfast before departure.
  • Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Uganda’s only home to wild rhinos.
  • Guided on-foot rhino tracking experience with ranger escorts — ideal for close encounters and photography.
  • Continue to Entebbe/Kampala for drop-off or evening departure.
